Some Historical Facts shows that Anioma People are same people with Igbos.
Recall that prior to the 1906 amalgamation of the Southern Nigeria protectorate (present day South South and South East) with the colony of lagos (South West), by Sir Egerton, the whole of Igbo Land was in one region, the Southern Nigeria protectorate.
After the amalgamation of South West (lagos colony) to Southern Nigeria in 1906 and subsequent amalgamation of Northern and Southern Nigeria in 1914 to form Nigeria, Colonial Governor General, Bernard Bourdillian decided in 1939 to divide Nigeria into three administrative units.
The three Anioma Kings that petitioned the colonial government in 1939 for separating Anioma from the rest of the Igbo Nation were the Obi of Agbor(Ika), the Obi of Aboh (Ukwuani) and the Obi of Idumuje-Ugboko (Ika)
Who are the kings mentioned?
* The Obi of Agbor is the grandfather of the Dein of Agbor.
* The Obi of Aboh is the grandfather of Dr Olisa Imegwu.
* The obi of idumuje ugboko is obi Nwoko the grandfather of senator ned nwoko.
How ironic it is that Igbo denial and identity crisis is now plaguing some of the domains of these great Kings though the Most Distinguished Nigerian Senator Prince Ned Nwoko area is Pro South East.
The reawakening of Anioma State Agitaton will not only correct the imbalance of States in South East Geo-political zone but will correct historical damages done against the Igbo Nation and will bring Anioma People together with their Kits and Kins.
