Patience Onuoha, from the Ministry of Labour, stated that the Minister met with the association to prevent industrial action. Meetings will continue on Friday at the Ministry of Health to find a resolution.
The association noted that they have faced poor working conditions for over 40 years without striking, despite lacking necessary supplies like gloves. They plan a warning strike ending on August 5.
If the government does not respond, the NANNM-FHI may issue a new 21-day ultimatum, leading to a possible indefinite strike if there is no satisfactory reply.
Rilwan expressed that they would proceed with the strike if their concerns remain unaddressed.
