The Rivers Local Government Election faces Challenges Due To Voter Apathy And logistical Problems.

The Rivers State Local Government Area elections faced several issues, including empty polling units, voter apathy, and logistical challenges.

Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, indicated the suspended governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, would return on September 18.

Elections across 319 wards and 23 local areas were hindered by delays in distributing electoral materials due to manpower and sorting problems, with materials not reaching some areas by 10 am.

The Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) wasn't used, and voter turnout was low in urban areas but better in some rural locations.

In several areas, such as Emohua and Opobo/Nkoro LGAs, original result sheets were missing during voting
