Nnamdi Kanu Files 22 Grounds of Appeal Against Conviction

According to Vanguard News, Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has taken a significant step by filing a 22-ground appeal aimed at overturning his conviction handed down by the Federal High Court in Abuja.

This appeal is challenging the judgment from November 20, 2025, when the court sentenced him to life in prison. His legal team is reportedly urging the appellate court to quash the conviction, pointing to various legal and procedural issues

The filing of this appeal signifies the next phase in the legal journey, as the case now ascends to a higher court for review. While this stage doesn’t decide the final outcome, it does formally contest the previous ruling.

More details are anticipated as the appeal process unfolds.
