In a revealing interview with the BBC Pidgin Service, Natasha described how Akpabio once noticed that she weren't wearing her marriage ring and made a remark that she found inappropriate.
During the interview, Senator Natasha recounted the moment stating,
The phrase “invitation to treat” is a legal term often used in contract law, referring to an invitation for offers rather than a definitive offer itself. However, in this context, many have interpreted Akpabio’s comment as inappropriate and suggestive.
Her remarks came amid an ongoing political storm following her six-month suspension from Senate, which she claimed was a deliberate effort to silence her after clashing with Akpabio over seating arrangement during a plenary session last month.
“I am being victimised once again. My suspension is a means of silencing me totally,” she said.
