A 12-year-old boy known as Udochukwu Munachi has narrated his ordeal with the police on how his mother sold their family land to be able to get him connected to Yahoo boys who will coach him on the yahoo business in Lagos.
The 12- year old boy said that before he arrived to Lagos, he lived with his parents in Anambra State. But the death of his father who was the bread winner of the family his mother has no option than to introduced him to the gang who operates as Yahoo boys.
He said: “I woken up one early morning by the news of the sudden death of my father who left home for his business place the following day.
“His death turned my dreams upside down because he promised to train me to higher institution
and his death made me to drop out of school since since my mother's small business can't solve the problem.
As I don't know what to do again one day,, my mother met a friend of hers for financial help , but instead of offering her the financial help, she introduced my mother to a gang that was recruiting young boys in the East into internet fraud.
“To her, the prospects was good as she believed that in less than one year, her young son would be rich enough to shoulder the burden and that her worries will be over.
“The only thing that stood against the thought of a lavish lifestyle is the money to buy me a laptop, data and some few other items.
