INEC Declares Emeka Ngene, LP Candidate Serving A Jail Term Winner OF Enugu Rerun -Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared jailed Labour Party candidate Ngene Bright Emeka as the winner of the Enugu South Urban Constituency rerun election, this has been raising concerns.
The 16 August 2025 election was the fourth attempt after delays since February 2024. INEC declared Ngene the winner over his PDP opponent, according to spokesperson Sam Olumekun’s statement on their Facebook page.
