Ayodele Fayose, the former Ekiti state Governor has faulted the planned Nationwide Protest tagging it #EndBadGovernance protest" This was porported against the President Bola Tinubu administration showing that the organisers of the protest have interior motives on this.
Fayose, who was a guest on Channels Television’s on today's programme the 29th of July, 2024, claimed the planned August hardship protest has political dimensions. He said Tinubu’s predecessor Muhammadu Buhari was in power for eight years and there was no hunger protest despite the hardship in the country at the time. So why must it be under president Ahmed Bola Tinubu that this kind protest will set in? He questioned.
Buhari, a former military head of state from Katsina State in North-West Nigeria was Nigeria’s democratically elected President from May 2015 to May 2023. He handed over power to Tinubu, former Lagos governor from the South-West geopolitical zone and everybody is quite away that things has already went wrong before Tinubu assumed office.
