Nationwide Protest: FG Begins Selling Of 50Kg Of Rice At #40,000 -- Mohammed Idris Revealed

This was made known by the information minister and National Orientation, Idris Mohammed

while briefing correspondents on the outcome of the Federal Executive Council meeting presided over by President Bola Tinubu at the State House, Abuja on Monday, 29th of July 2024.

According to Idris, the initiative was part of initiatives by the Tinubu administration to reduce high rate of living for Nigerian citizens.

The position of the FEC is that most of the demands that the protesters are making are actually being addressed by the Federal Government and, therefore, it is the view of the government that there is no basic need for the protests again.

“Most of the things that the protesters are putting forward has already being addressed by the government. And like we have said repeatedly, this is a listening administration. We have heard all your cry and we are trying our best to bring hardship and high cost of living to an end. Cease fire as regards the proposed protest.

“The President has heard the complaints  of those planning this Nationwide protest. And the message is that there is no need for it. Indeed, the President is already protesting on their behalf by doing what they want the government to do,” said Idris.
